On Saturday August 14, 2010, The Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Kennebunk hosted their annual Blueberry Festival. 100% of the festival proceeds are donated to different non-profit organizations each year. This year the proceeds were donated to the Biddeford Free Clinic.

Biddeford Free Clinic recently received much needed medication free of charge from AmeriCares, a non-profit humanitarian aid organization. BFC continues to receive free medication through its membership with the National Association of Free Clinics.

Gifts In Kind International, a non-profit organization links corporate donor resources with communities and people in need. They recently arranged with Bed Bath & Beyond a donation of numerous house items to the clinic which was donated to BFC patients and Stone Soup Pantry in Biddeford.

BFC gratefully accepted a $4000 award from Maine Lions Sight & Hearing Chapter. The program will provide our diabetic patients the opportunity to receive annual low or no cost eye exams and eye glasses. Local opthomologists, at Associated Eye Care in Sanford/Kennebunk and Dr. Jo Johnson along with an optometrist, Dr. Richard J Doiron, OD provide their professional services.

Kennebunk Savings Bank Community Investment Ballot Program — Once a year, KSB customers cast their vote to help distribute a portion of KSB charitable funds. On August 23, 2010, the Biddeford Free Clinic received $1040.00 to continue its mission to serve the uninsured patients in York county. We applaud KSB’s commitment to improve human needs throughout York county.
